This document provides information about the collection of personal data in connection with the use of our website. Personal data is any data that makes personal reference to you, e.g. name, address, email address, user behaviour. We have implemented comprehensive technical and operational measures to protect your data against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Our security procedures are regularly reviewed and adapted in line with ongoing technical advancements.

Your rights

You have the following rights in connection with the personal data concerning you that we process:

General rights

You have the right to disclosure, correction, erasure and restriction of processing of your personal data, the right to object to the processing of your personal data and the right to data portability. When personal data is processed because your have provided your consent, you have the right to revoke that consent at any time with future effect.

Your rights when data is processed for the purpose of a legitimate interest

Art. 21 (1) GDPR accords you the right to object on grounds relating to your particular situation at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you on the basis of Art. 6 (1) e GDPR (processing of data for the purpose of a legitimate interest) or Art. 6 (1) f GDPR. This also applies to profiling on the basis of this provision. If you object to the processing of your data we will stop processing your personal data, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Your rights in connection with direct advertising

If we process your data for direct advertising purposes, Art. 21 (2) GDPR accords you the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for direct advertising purposes. This also applies to profiling in connection with such direct advertising activities. If you object to the processing of your data for direct advertising purposes we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.

Collection of personal data when you visit our website

If you simply visit our website without logging in or entering other information, we only collect the personal data that is transferred by your browser to our server. If you view the content of our website, we collect the following data which is technically necessary in order to display our website content to you and to guarantee its stability and security. The legal basis for such processing is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR: IP address, data and time of access, time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), specific web page visited, referrer URL, browser, operating system and user interface, language and version of the browser software.

Contacting us by email or via the contact form

When you contact us by email or via the contact form we store the data you share with us (your email address and possibly your name and telephone number) in order to respond to your enquiry. If we request that you enter information in our contact form that is not essential for the purpose of contacting us, the fields are always designated as optional. This information helps us to substantiate your enquiry and process it more efficiently. This information is always provided on a voluntary basis and with your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) a GPDR. If the information relates to communication channels (e.g. email address, telephone number), you also consent to us contacting you via these communication channels in order to respond to your enquiry. You can naturally revoke your consent at any time with future effect. We will erase the data that you provide in this context when it is no longer necessary to store it, or we will restrict the processing of this data if we are required to comply with statutory archiving requirements.

Job applications

You can apply for jobs on our online application portal. Online applications are transferred directly to our HR department via an encrypted link, where they are naturally treated as confidential. If you choose to apply for a job with us via email, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that sending unencrypted emails and email attachments is not secure. We currently use softgarden e-recruiting GmbH, Tauentzienstraße 14, 10789 Berlin as our service provider in connection with our application portal and we have concluded a data processing agreement with them in accordance with Art. 28 (3) GDPR.

Use of cookies

Cookies are placed on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are saved on your hard disk and linked to your browser. They are used by the cookie owner to obtain certain information. Cookies cannot run programs or transfer viruses to your computer. They serve the purpose of improving the effectiveness of the website and the user experience. This website uses the following types of cookies and the scope and function of the cookies is explained in the following:

Transient cookies

These cookies are automatically deleted when you exit the browser. Session cookies are transient cookies. They create a session ID that is used to track your actions within the website during the session. This allows the website to recognise your computer when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or exit your browser.

Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a defined time period; this time period differs from cookie to cookie. However, you can always delete the cookies via your browser security settings at any time.

Social bookmarks are bookmarks on the internet. They allow users to store interesting links and messages. The social bookmarks on our website are simply links to the respective services. When you click on the embedded graphic you are taken to the provider’s website, i.e. your user information is not transferred to the corresponding provider until you click on the link. Information about how these websites handle your personal data can be found in the respective providers’ privacy policies.

Website analysis

We use various services, which are set out below, for the purpose of website analysis and optimisation. For example, they help us to analyse how many users visit our website, which information is most popular or how users find our website. We collect data on the referrer URL, i.e. the website previously visited by the data subject, the subdomains of the website that are accessed, how often a user visits our website and the duration of their visit. This helps us to improve the user experience. The data we collect does not serve to identify individual users. Only anonymous or highly pseudonymous data is collected. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA), including the Universal Analytics service. Universal Analytics makes it possible to assign data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices to one pseudonymous user ID so that a user’s activities on all devices can be analysed. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse the way you use the website. The information about your use of this website that is created with the cookie is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If you enable the IP anonymization function on this website Google will first truncate your IP address within the Member States of the European Union or in other states that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. In exceptional cases the full IP address is transferred by Google to a server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address sent by your browser to Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. At the request of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate the way you use this website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide additional services connected to website use and internet use for the website operator. It is also in our legitimate interest to process this data. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is section 15, sub-section 3 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and Art. 6 (1) f GDPR. The data sent by us and linked to cookies, user IDs or advertising IDs is automatically erased after 14 months. Data with expired statutory retention periods is automatically erased once a month. Opt-out cookies prevent your data from being collected when you visit this website again. Data transfer

Your data is never transferred to third parties unless we are legally required to do so or the data transfer is necessary for the performance of the contract or you have provided your explicit consent to the transfer of your data beforehand. If our service providers process your personal data, we ensure that the processing is in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR and that the service providers comply with data protection legislation to the same extent that we do. Please read the respective service providers’ privacy policies. The respective service providers are responsible for the content of third party services, however we do check, to an extent that is reasonable, that the services are compliant with the statutory requirements. We place value on the processing of your data within the EU/ the EEA. However, in some cases we use service providers that process data outside the EU/the EEA. In such cases we ensure prior to the transfer of your personal data that the recipient has an adequate level of data protection. By this we mean we ensure that a comparable level of data protection to the standards that are applicable in the EU exists by means of standard contracts with the EU or an adequacy decision by the EU Commission.

Processing of customer data

If you are a client of Assure Consulting GmbH, we collect, process and use your personal data only when necessary for the conclusion of a contract, the drafting of a contract or amendments to a contract with you (master data). We do this on the basis of Art. 6 (1) b GDPR which permits the processing of data for the purpose of contract performance or in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract. We only collect, process and use personal data in connection with the use of our website (usage data) if this is necessary for the user to use our services or for billing purposes.

The customer data collected in this context is subsequently erased upon termination of the contract or business relationship. This does not affect the statutory retention periods.
